How does a spray tan work?

Are you wondering how this mysterious solution darkens your skin and stays that way for a whole week? Introducing DHA - dihydroxyacetone (wow I actually spelt it right). This is the active ingredient in every tanning product. It is derived from sugar cane. The darkness of a tan depends on the % of DHA in the solution. When you get a spray tan, you will instantly look tanned from the bronzers in the solution. This is just so the spray tan tech can see where they are spraying and so you leave looking beautifully bronzed. The DHA on the other hand is actually colourless when first sprayed on. Once applied, begins a natural reaction between the DHA and the amino acids in your skin. This is completely safe and much better alternative than tanning in the sun. As your tan 'develops', your skin will slowly be getting more tanned.

Often when people talk about development time they are usually referring to the rinse off time of the bronzer. At Body Glow my solution can be rinsed off in as little as two hours. The tan continues to darken for much longer than this, even up to 12 hours. Hence why I say getting a tan 2 days before your event is the ideal time. You will then have a beautiful than that will last 5-10 days. Pretty amazing right?
